the betrange pump was used in a fixed-installation at ground level to raise water to a header tank, later placed in the newly dug well in the fort to raise water from it.

found in a well in operational position, agricultural domain of a villa at Betrange, 3.5km west of the centre of Luxembourg. The villa is 48km from Trier, 1km south of the main Roman road joining Trier to Reims. The found was found southwest corner of the agricultural domain (near the residence) Strasbourg museum (replica at 1/2 scale) and found parts are in MNHA museum in Luxembourg the well was built just before A.D. 270, pieces of wood from the bottom well dates A.D. 266, therefore pump was existed in A.D. 270
