Dialog: Wissenschaft als Mythos und Wahrheit

What is Science?

Nietzsche:

In future people will no longer study the masses, but again focus on the individuals who build a bridge across the turbulent river of development. One giant calls out to another through the desolate spaces of time, and undisturbed by the cacophony of the noisy dwarfish hoards that crawl around between them, the conversation between the higher minds continues.

Einstein:

Restricting scientific knowledge to a small group of persons weakens the philosophical mind of a people and leads to its intellectual impoverishment.

Nietzsche:

That, then, is the notorious tailoring of the coat of science to fit the body of the mixed audience.

Einstein:

Concern for human beings must be our main focus of interest, so that the products of our intellect are of benefit rather than a curse for them.
