Dialog: Wissenschaft als Mythos und Wahrheit

What is Science?

Nietzsche:

Just look at the scholars, those worn out hens. All they can do is cluck around more than ever simply because they have to lay more and more eggs. What they don’t realize is, the eggs are getting smaller and smaller by the day.

Einstein:

Specialization gives the impression that the individual is replaceable. Despite this, science can only be created by people who are filled with the desire to find the truth.

Nietzsche:

That could also be a hidden desire to find death. What’s the point of morals when life, nature, history are immoral?

Mach:

Reality is immoral. But there are two ways to become reconciled with it. People become accustomed to its riddles. Or they learn through history to understand it, so they can then study it without hatred.
