How does the Leyden Jar Work?
The Leyden Jar is developed at the end of the 18th century in Leyden in the Netherlands. In principle, it is a capacitor. The inner and outer surface of a glass jar is covered with an electrical conductor. If one connects the internal conductor with an electrostatic generator, the conductor is charged. In this way it is possible for the first time to accumulate and transport electric charges.
